The Brief:

GardaWorld are one of the largest private security firms in the world. Their Africa division operates across some of the continent's most complex and demanding environments, protecting people, assets and operations at a scale that very few organisations anywhere in the world are equipped to match.

They commissioned Visually Rich to travel to Africa and produce a corporate film that would introduce their African arm of the business to new major clients across the continent. Communicating their services, their expertise and the scale of what they deliver in very harsh environments. Sixteen days. Two countries. Nine cities and locations. One film.

The approach:

There is no template for a production like this. Corporate video at this level, in these environments, for a client of this significance, requires a combination of thorough preparation, genuine adaptability and the ability to maintain a professional creative standard regardless of what the day puts in front of you.

We spent seven days moving across Nigeria. From the scale and energy of Lagos through to Kano and Abuja, documenting GardaWorld's operations, their people and the environments in which they work with the kind of authenticity that only comes from being genuinely present in the locations rather than simulating them. Nine days in Tanzania took the production from Arusha and Dar es Salaam to the remote Kilombero region and Williams Diamond Mine. The locations we travelled to were by far some of the most incredible we’d ever witnessed.

Every location brought its own logistical demands, its own light, its own character and its own version of the operational complexity that defines what GardaWorld does across the continent. The film needed to communicate all of it, the professionalism, the capability, the geographic reach and the human expertise behind one of the world's most significant private security operations.

The result:

A corporate film that gave GardaWorld Africa a genuinely powerful tool for introducing their business to new clients across the continent. Authentic, authoritative and produced to a standard that reflects the scale and capability of the organisation behind it.

For us, it was without doubt one of the most extraordinary and memorable productions we have ever been part of. Sixteen days across two African nations, in locations most people let alone productions will never reach. The kind of brief that reminds you how cool your job is!
